From my earliest memories, I've been captivated by the illustrations and imagery in fairy tales and the idea that pictures could open a door into another world. I knew early on that I wanted to create ones of my own.

I’ve spent more than 30 years working as an illustrator, designer, art director, instructor, curator and workshop facilitator. My work has appeared in books, magazines, educational publishing, packaging, software, zoos, galleries and exhibitions.

These days, I’m especially drawn to sketchbooks, botanical and nature-based work, visual storytelling, and the small details that make ordinary life worth looking at closely. When I’m not working, I’m usually somewhere near the plants, experimenting with herbs, cooking, reading, watching movies, being a well trained servant to any number of cats, and working in my gardens to make sure there are plenty of havens for visiting faeries here in the mossy Pacific Northwest.
